West Palm Beach’s $264 million budget will include employee raises, steady property tax rate

The West Palm Beach City Commission has given preliminary approval to a $264 million general fund budget for fiscal year 2025, maintaining property tax rates while providing raises for police, fire, and other unionized workers. The overall budget is $980.7 million, reflecting a 10.2% increase from the previous year. Key allocations include $96.8 million for the Police Department and $57.4 million for the Fire Department. The final budget hearing is set for Sept. 25, with the new fiscal year starting Oct. 1.
